2 year ownership review | genuine read | read

4 weeks ago by Abrar Mazhar234 views

A little synopsis of the owning journey before the review read to a potential owner:1> single owner, single hand used for 2 years 33k kms clocked.2>regular and strict maintenance of the engine, body, paint, and parts as per periodic use.3>surfed deep internet and personal owner pov before booking one for myself. Buying experience:A regular buying experience, give money take the machine. But somethings are very important before taking the delivery which points to be noted for a buyer which i too did at the time of taking the delivery of the bike:1>no gaps into body 2>fluids check 3>rust check 4>check meter, ridden not more than 10-50 kms (also depends on ware house it’s stored at)5>tyre brand check, i got eurogrip instead of mrfs, told particularly. Get it clear before booking it. 6>no scratches on the body while unloading it 7>optimal fuel to reach to the nearest bunk 9>all electrics, sensors, meters and switches working optimal. 10> done now can take the bike home. Always get your concerns addressed to the dealer before taking the bike home.Riding experience:A good engine with good outputs in terms of numbers quoted on the paper. Expect a slack of 2-5% in the delivery of the numbers. After gradual use of the bike you’ll notice decrease in power outputs definitely. But i think that’s how the engine is by default, even before buying my bike i consulted to many p220 owners and every one addressed the same loosing of power after gradual use. Some of the hereditary problems with the bike will be and will always be: 1>fairing rattle and vibes all over the foot pegs after 4k rpm 2>non-existent rear break force. Front and rear shocks are the best but are on the softer side and hence becomes a dicey situation when over a pothole, no issues with the shocks in terms of leakage, considering here in mumbai all the roads have become like no road and they still perform to their best even after 2 years. A no corner loving ergonomics, foot pegs will scrape and if you are short fairing weight till take you down if you bend it over a limit.Frequently faced problems with:1>low beam bulb, fuses after every 7-8k kms 2>handlebar cone set goes after every 7-8k kms 3>rider & pillion seat feels less cushioned Average:Expect an average of 35kmpl with regular maintenance and consistent speed of 60-65 if you want to milk average out of a 220 motor. Recommended for one way commutes up to 30-40 kms daily. Details about looks, performance etc.:Good looks even though many years of selling the same styling unit.Best in class package considering the price you get tubeless tyres, projector headlamps, thick forks, clip-ons for better handling, commute, steel braided line front break, alloy wheel, led tail lamp, split seat, back lit switches, dual horn, oil cooled radiator, 2 spark plugs, and 4 valves. Servicing and maintenance:Easy on pocket, cheap spare parts, even though wide service network but more tat time for repairs and service. If maintained well you only have to visit svc for periodic maintenance. Oil change after every 7-9k kms. Use full synthetic motul 20w50 after 4 servicing. Go for aftermarket air filter, probably a k&n . Svc guys will tell you what to get changed and what will work for the time being. Always save inr 200-300 bucks by not taking the chain clean & lube from the svcs. Save that money and buy one for yourself a good quality cl & cc which will last for 3-4 cycles.Pros and cons. Pros:1>tubeless tyre & alloy wheels 2>projector headlamps,3>thick forks, 4>clip-ons for better handling, commute, 5>steel braided line front break,6>led tail lamp,7>split seat, back lit switches, dual horn 8>oil cooled radiator, 2 spark plugs, and 4 valves Cons:1>fairing rattle and vibes all over the foot pegs after 4k rpm 2>non-existent rear break force 3>low beam bulb, fuses after every 7-8k kms 4>handlebar cone set goes after every 7-8k kms 5>rider & pillion seat feels less cushioned.
