Bajaj Pulsar 220F 2017 – Honest Owner ReviewIf you're looking for a bike that perfectly balances power, comfort, and reliability, the Bajaj Pulsar 220F is still one of the best in its segment.I’ve ridden this bike for 37,000 km, and it has never disappointed. The 220cc DTS-i engine delivers smooth acceleration with strong mid-range power, making it ideal for both city rides and highway cruising. Overtaking is effortless, and the bike feels stable even at higher speeds.

Strong acceleration (0-60 km/h in 3.8s), comfortable seating for long rides, and reliable performance. Some users mention it can feel dated compared to new competitors, and the gearbox can occasionally feel rough. Features a "sport cruiser" stance that blends sporty looks with an upright, fatigue-free posture for long rides.

My favourite bike ...Very comfortable for long rides and highway cruising.Engine vibration becomes noticeable at higher RPMs over time, according to long-term owners. If your priority is comfort, performance, and trusted reliability—not flashy modern features—the Pulsar 220F is still a very smart buy in 2026..

220F Best in the segment

This bike is the best in the price range. I was looking for R15, but I came through 220°F, and I was shocked to see that after such a low price, you can get the best bike all-rounder. I loved the 220F, one of my friends has a 220F, so I thought to take a ride, and it was very comfortable, and the seat is also low, so easy to handle.

The Bajaj Pulsar 220 F is a well-regarded motorcycle known for its performance and value, often described as a good cruising bike for Indian roads. It remains a popular choice even years after its initial release, delivering an outstanding performance for many riders. Performance and Riding ExperienceThe Pulsar 220 F is powered by a robust 220cc DTS-i engine, producing around 18.5 horsepower. This gives the bike good pickup, with some users noting it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 10 seconds. The riding experience is generally described as great, with a powerful and smooth engine that makes it a joy to travel long distances on. It's considered a respectable powerhouse for the genuine bike enthusiast. Maintenance and MileageMaintenance for the Pulsar 220 F is relatively cheap compared to some other bikes, though it's not a zero-maintenance motorcycle. Common issues reported by users include fairing vibrations and problems with the chain sprocket and mirrors. In terms of mileage, riders often report an average of 38-40 km/l, which is considered good for its class. Pros and ConsPros:Excellent performance and pickup.Good for long-distance cruising.Relatively low maintenance costs.Appealing design and powerful engine.Cons:Potential issues with the chain sprocket and mirrors. Some fairing vibrations can occur. Overall VerdictOverall, the Bajaj Pulsar 220 F is rated highly by its owners, with many giving it a positive score of around 8/10. Self start problem
1 year ago
Rahul
I purchased before 1.5 years ago, but the self-start problem has not been resolved by the service Centre's and the bike vibration is continuous, so the bike ride is not enjoyable and comfortable. Bajaj Pulsar 220 F is a bike, but some problems are written above, so please suggest giving kick start because of any problems.

It was stylish in 2007 but after there was no change in design, or colors, everything same. adding F after 220.

No doubt the bike is very Good in power pickup, but the build quality is poor, and the design boring and irritating chain set sound, and the fiber body on the tank and behind the pillion seat, the body of the bike sound rather losing bolt, etc.. especially when you think about sports bike. you always require smooth engine sound, colorful design, sharp edges, etc.

220f Look like a jaguar
Prabhakaran R
Owned from 2015 onwards. Good performance city mileage 35 kmpl highways long ride up to 40 kmpl stylish service costs approximate up to Rs, 2000 to 2500. every 5000 kms needs to improve suspensions like Rs 200. Also altering the front doom set like r15 means looks more good to visually looking. For 220 performances with the average cost. I like it.
