The budget super bike

When I first threw a leg over the Aprilia RS 457, the immediate feeling was that of a "baby superbike" rather than a budget commuter. The 457cc parallel-twin fires up with a deep growl—thanks to that 270-degree crank—and it has this addictive, mechanical soul that makes you want to keep revving it just to hear it sing. On the move, the standout for me was the torque; I could pull away cleanly from 35 kmph in 4th gear without any engine protest, which makes weaving through city traffic surprisingly effortless for a faired bike. Once I hit the open stretches, the power delivery felt incredibly linear and refined—I looked down and was doing triple-digit speeds before I even realized it.The handling is where it really won me over. Because of that lightweight aluminium frame, But honestly, the moment you see it parked and look back at those sharp, exotic lines, you tend to forgive its minor chinks because it just feels so much more special than anything else in its class.

The Aprilia RS 457 is a compelling entrant into the middle-weight sport bike category — a machine that blends serious performance with surprisingly approachable ergonomics. Visually, it clearly echoes its bigger siblings like the RS660 and RSV4, with aggressive dual-fairing styling, sharp lines and premium fit-and-finish that make it stand out in a segment dominated by rivals such as the KTM RC 390 and Ninja 400.Powered by a 457 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, the RS 457 produces around 47.6 PS and 43.5 Nm of torque — ample for both city commuting and highway cruising. Power delivery is linear and refined, with strong mid-range punch that makes everyday riding effortless. The engine pulls cleanly from low revs and feels eager up to high rpm, though it isn’t a screaming top-end unit.Aprilia complements the engine with a 6-speed gearbox and slip-assist clutch, while the optional quickshifter adds a touch of racier usability for those who want it. The dual-beam aluminium frame paired with a 41 mm USD fork and preload-adjustable monoshock gives the bike a confident, agile feel in corners, and it remains stable at higher speeds without being intimidating. On the tech front, the RS 457 doesn’t disappoint. A 5-inch TFT display, three riding modes, traction control and dual-channel ABS bring modern rider aids to the package. These features elevate the Italian bike above many rivals in terms of usability and safety. However, it’s not perfect. Some testers have noted that stock brakes lack sharp initial bite and may fade under hard track use, while the service network and long-term reliability in India remain concerns for many owners.Overall, the Aprilia RS 457 delivers a fun, well-rounded sport bike experience — sporty yet manageable, feature-rich, and stylish — making it a strong contender for riders seeking a capable performance bike without the complexity or cost of larger liter machinery

I recently had the chance to ride the Aprilia RS 457, and it left a very strong impression on me as one of the most exciting mid-capacity sport bikes currently available in India. From the moment I saw it in person, the design stood out. It looks sharp, aggressive, and unmistakably Aprilia, with clean body lines, a compact tail section, and a premium paint finish. It genuinely feels like a baby superbike rather than just another 400-cc motorcycle.Once I got on the bike, the riding posture felt sporty but not uncomfortable. The clip-ons are low, but not extreme, and the seat height felt manageable for daily riding. In traffic, the bike felt surprisingly easy to handle for a fully-faired sportbike. The clutch is light, throttle response is smooth, and the engine doesn’t feel jerky at low speeds. The 457 cc parallel-twin engine is the real highlight. Power delivery is very linear and refined. It pulls cleanly from low revs and builds speed confidently in the mid-range. On open roads, it feels fast enough to be thrilling without being intimidating. I especially liked how stable and planted the bike felt at higher speeds. The aluminium frame and suspension setup give it excellent cornering confidence, and it changes direction quickly without feeling nervous. The electronics package also impressed me. The ride modes, traction control, and TFT display make it feel modern and premium. Brakes are strong and progressive, although the initial bite could be slightly sharper. My only real concerns are around after-sales support and long-term reliability, given Aprilia’s limited service network in India. Overall, though, the RS 457 feels like a proper enthusiast’s sportbike. If service improves, I genuinely believe this could be one of the best value performance bikes in its segment.

A Near-Perfect Middleweight Sportbike That Excites the Rider
11 weeks ago
Prithvi Raj Chauhan
The Aprilia RS457 is a daring and delightful move by the brand to combine the best from Italy with the most up-to-date technology and a performance that is engaging and yet practical into a very attractive package and make it a middleweight sportbike segment contender. This motorcycle, awarded the rating of 4 stars out of 5, manages to stir excitement while being practical, yet it has a small space for enhancement. In truth, the RS457 is pretty attractive from the outside. Its razor-sharp fairings, aggressive LED headlights, and race-inspired stance are all elements that pinpoint the superbike DNA of Aprilia. Visually, it doesn’t show that it is a beginner or budget bike; on the contrary, it appears to be a high-end and well-finished piece of work, thus it is very easy to attract the attention of the people when you are out on the road. The build quality is solid, and the attention to detail is impressive for this segment. The RS457 has a 457cc parallel-twin engine making it a smooth, refined, and lively ride. The power delivery is strong in the mid-range, making it fun for city rides as well as highway cruising. The bike is quick to accelerate but the power is manageable which is why it is perfect for new sportbike riders and seasoned ones who are looking for a balanced machine. In terms of the sound, the RS457 sports a nice tune; however, the maker could have been a bit louder straight out of the box.The area of handling is what the RS457 is all about. Aprilia has taken a very light chassis and combined this with a suspension that is well-tuned and the end result is a machine that is very stable and gives jolly good confidence in corners. The bike is firm and accurate not only when blasting through the bends of the mountain but also when riding in heavy urban traffic. In terms of braking, the bike is spot on and the rider will feel safe thanks to the dual-channel ABS and traction control which is there to provide extra security. The position used for riding is typical of a sport bike yet it is still comfortable enough to be used daily. The only thing is that if you are tall then I think you will agree that long trips might be a bit of a challenge because of the fight stance. Even though the public features are there, a little more refinement in seat comfort and heat management would have made it even better. In summary, the Aprilia RS457 is a stylish, capable, and thrilling to ride sportbike with relatively little cash outlay. The enhancements to the list of feature and fitting in the seat would make it an even better proposition having the potential to be a leader in the class - therefore a 4/5 star motorbike rating is well-deserved.

Aprilia RS 457 – A Game Changer in the 500cc ClassThe Aprilia RS 457 isn’t just another motorcycle — it’s a statement of precision, power, and Italian engineering excellence. From the moment you fire up the parallel-twin engine, you can tell this machine means business. With its 457cc liquid-cooled engine producing around 47 horsepower, the RS 457 offers an explosive yet refined performance that easily outclasses most rivals in the 500cc range. The throttle response is crisp, and the acceleration feels linear yet thrilling, making every ride an event in itself. What truly sets the RS 457 apart is its balance between track-focused aggression and real-world usability. The lightweight chassis and premium suspension setup give it razor-sharp handling — it dives into corners with confidence and stability that riders of all levels can appreciate. Whether carving through twisties or gliding through city traffic, the RS 457 remains composed and effortless to control.Design-wise, it’s an absolute head-turner. The aggressive front fascia, sleek LED setup, and aerodynamic bodywork reflect Aprilia’s racing DNA. Everywhere you go, people notice — and often, they stop to admire. The fit and finish are top-notch, rivaling bikes in much higher segments.Comfort hasn’t been sacrificed either. The ergonomics strike a fine balance between sporty and practical, allowing longer rides without fatigue. The TFT display, ride-by-wire throttle, and selectable riding modes add a modern, premium feel.In essence, the Aprilia RS 457 is more than just a bike — it’s an experience. It bridges the gap between a daily commuter and a track-ready machine with astonishing finesse. For anyone seeking top-tier performance, stunning design, and authentic racing character in the sub-500cc segment, the RS 457 stands in a league of its own.Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) – Pure adrenaline, Italian style.

My experience after 3 weeks of purchase
Neel
Buying experience was amazing, staff at Avant Garde Marathalli is really supportive and follow up with help. After three weeks of purchase my bike broke down on the road in the middle of nowhere, I dragged it to 400m on a tea stall and called staff, they gave me contact of customer support and customer support first sent technician he took more than an hour to come from bangalore city traffic then he touched few places in the bike n said to identify the issue call customer support n ask them to tow it, again I had to follow up n they sent two truck after 1 hour. Bike is on service center for three days now, they keep telling me its a software issue, but when u press the start button and engine does not start, my mind can't wrap my head around any software. They are hiding something. Anyways so far this was the experience, if I face any other issue, will post on top of this comment.
