About Yamaha Ray 125
Yamaha is working on a 125cc version of its Ray scooter and might launch it for the Indian two-wheeler market early next year. The Ray 125 will mark Yamaha's entry into the 125cc segment of scooters.
The Yamaha Ray 125 is expected to have similar styling as the current Ray. The scooter will have a similar feature list as the present Ray and Ray-Z. However, the company might add some features like a mobile phone charger and an under seat light. We think Yamaha might equip the new scooter with a front disc brake as well.
The new Ray 125 might be powered by a re-bored version of the 113cc engine that currently powers the Ray. The current 113cc engine produces 7bhp of power and 8.1Nm of torque. With the new tuning we can expect an increased output of 2bhp.
The Yamaha Ray 125 will compete with the recently unveiled Activa 125, TVS Jupiter, Suzuki Access, and the Vespa VX125 when launched in India.
