Triumph recently presented its all-new Bonneville line of motorcycles including the Street Twin that you see here. The Street Twin, in fact, is quite crucial for the British motorcycle brand as its being aimed at a wide spectrum of motorcyclists looking for a fun to ride cruiser that can be personalised with a heap load of customizable options.

Billed as the most contemporary of the new five-model Bonneville range, the Street Twin makes use of Triumph’s new 899cc ‘high torque’ engine. This 8-valve, parallel twin motor makes 80Nm of torque at a rider friendly 3200rpm, giving the Street Twin healthy low down grunt. The rest of the new Bonneville range, meanwhile, uses Triumph’s bigger 1199cc unit.

Contrary to its classic appearance, the Street Twin boasts of thoroughly modern underpinnings including an advanced ride-by-wire throttle, fuel-injection, ABS and traction control. Making it a further lucrative proposition to newbie riders is the low positioned seat, greater suspension travel, a fairly upright riding position and slim waist profile.

Coming back to the design, the Street Twin comes across as a pretty neat looking motorcycle, thanks to the black cast alloy wheels, an old-school yet shapely fuel tank, upswept brushed stainless steel exhausts and all-black treatment for the side panels, minimalistic front and rear mud guards and the front forks. The motorcycle also features LED rear lights that are incorporated into the classically-inspired tail set-up.

Like in the new Thruxton, the instrument cluster displays a plethora of information like gear position indicator, odometer, two trip settings, service indicator, distance to empty indicator, average and current fuel consumption and also offers access to turn off traction control and ABS.

Globally, the Street Twin can be had in up to five colour schemes: cranberry red, with tank and wheel strips, aluminium silver with tank and wheel strips, matt black, jet black and phantom black . Following its UK launch, the Street Twin will eventually show up in India at the 2016 Auto Expo and go on sale soon after.
