Revealing spy shots of the upcoming BMW G310GS surface

These are the third set of spy shots of this upcoming mini adventure motorcycle from BMW. Called the G310GS, the motorcycle will be manufactured in India and be the smallest capacity motorcycle from BMW alongside its naked sibling that it is based on. These new spy shots of the bike reveal more traces of its base – the naked sport G310R.

These new spy shots reveal many of the details of the mini adventure bike, the biggest one being the instrument cluster. The cluster looks to be straight off the G310R which shows the following information – engine speed, road speed, gear, total kilometres, engine temperature, fuel tank level, remaining range, average fuel consumption, average speed and time.

The raised suspension, minimal bodywork, sleek profile and the upright seating should offer it the versatility of being a decent off roader while being comfortable over long distances. From the previous spy shot, we can assume the G310 GS will be offered with a host of touring-friendly customisation options like panniers, hand guards and engine guards. It uses the same 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit from the naked sport and will develop approximately 34bhp and 28Nm of torque.

KTM’s Duke 390-based adventure motorcycle is not expected to be ready before 2019, the G310GS will only have the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Kawasaki Versys 250 as competition. To know the latest on the latter, click here.
