Triumph showcases new Bonneville range at India Bike Week 2016

Triumph has showcased its new Bonneville range at India Bike Week 2016. The range comprises the Street Twin, Bonneville T120 and the Thruxton R of which the first two have already been launched while the Thruxton R will be launched by the middle of this year.
The Thruxton R is a new café racer and sits at the top of the British biker maker’s modern classic range. The classic styling cues are visible in the form of the sculpted fuel tank, round headlamp, chrome bezel on the clocks, clip-on handle bars and bar-end mirrors. The bike on display was painted in the Silver Ice shade and was fitted with the ‘Track RacerKit’ which comprises a host of cosmetic accessories.

Based on a completely new platform, the Thruxton R is powered by a 1200cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 112Nm of torque. Rider aids on the bike include ABS, traction control, riding modes and slip assist clutch.
The Street Twin was launched at the 2016 Auto Expo and has been priced at Rs 6.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).  As the new entry-level model, the Street Twin has replaced the old air-cooled Bonneville in Triumph’s Indian line-up. The Street Twin is developed from ground up as a new model, and is underpinned by a brand new liquid-cooled platform. It is powered by an 899cc parallel twin that produces 80Nm of torque 54bhp and 80Nm of torque.

Triumph has also showcased the Bonneville T120, which made its Indian debut earlier this month at the 2016 Auto Expo. Priced at Rs 8.7 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Bonneville T120 uses the same powertrain and underpinnings as the Thruxton R. The 1200cc parallel twin engine delivers 105Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission. Styling is quintessentially old school though the modern touches like LED headlamp, tail lamps, rider aids, and the contemporary clocks add modern touches to the motorcycle.
The Triumph stall at the India Bike Week Arena also has on display the rest of its line up which includes the Tiger range, Daytona, Speed Triple, Street Triple and the mighty Rocket III.
