2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R to be globally launched in Malaysia

The world launch of Kawasaki’s all new ZX-10R is about to be held at Sepang, Malaysia. Riders will go out on the Sepang international circuit and test the bikes in optimum forecasted weather. The bike will reach Indian shores soon after.

The ZX-10R had already been launched at a small track in Australia back in December. The Malaysian launch will feature the new ZX-10R on race slicks on a much faster and more demanding track with former WSBK Champion Tom Sykes as an instructor. Sykes played a pivotal role in developing the new bike, and Kawasaki claim this is the closest thing to a factory world superbike. Sykes will also answer questions about the bike.

The new ZX-10R is powered by a new 998cc  inline-four liquid-cooled engine that produces 197bhp. This engine gets a 20 per cent lighter new cylinder head, new Euro 4 titanium exhaust and an electronic throttle. The new ZX-10R is loaded with electronics like the Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) which operates through five measured axes plus a calculated programme which allows the bike to know what is going on in terms of lean angle, pitch and yaw, acceleration and braking. It also features, Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System, Kawasaki Launch Control Mode, Kawasaki Quick Shifter, Kawasaki Engine Brake Control and the new Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control.

Kawasaki will bring the 2016 Ninja ZX-10R as a completely-built-up (CBU) unit and it will be sold only through Kawasaki dealerships and not Pro-Biking showrooms. It will be marginally more than the current model which is Rs 18.17 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
