Top 5 Honda motorcycles at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show

The Tokyo Motor Show happens to be one of the biggest automotive shows in Asia. As such, it is a big platform for manufacturers to show interesting concept motorcycles and flaunt their technological accomplishments. Honda has gone all out at this year’s edition of the Tokyo Motor Show, displaying 19 motorcycles and one trike (apart from a bunch of four-wheelers). Here are our top 5 picks of the most interesting Honda debutantes at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show :

1. Light Weight Super Sports Concept

The Light Weight Super Sports Concept previews the future of Honda’s next-generation lightweight sportsbikes. With its aggressive front-heavy styling, aerodynamic bodywork and the lightweight architecture, the Light Weight Super Sports Concept gives out all the right vibes. Can’t wait for Honda to roll out the real deal!

2. Grom 50 Scrambler Concept-One

The Honda Grom has always been the perfect exemplification of all that is fun about motorcycling. With the Grom 50 Scrambler Concept-One, Honda has taken this a step further. The Grom 50 Scrambler Concept-One is a neo-retro scrambler which adds a touch of nostalgia to the Grom’s buffoonery . The custom fuel tank, side panels with punched holes, retro seat and the silver paint job all play an old-school tune, while the LED lights and the full-LCD display adds modern touches.

3. NC750X

The term ‘crossover’ is no longer limited to just for four-wheelers, as of late Honda has been using the term more and more for its two-wheelers. Essentially an adventure tourer, the new NC750X is where the ruggedness of an adventure motorcycle meets the convenience of dual clutch transmission. Besides the cosmetic revamp, it also gets a host of updates including LED lights, colour display in the instrument console, bigger storage compartment and a revised suspension.

4. CBR400R

The Japanese market’s regulations technical specification of motorcycles has led to the conception of a number of divergent segments and interesting motorcycles. The fully-faired Honda CBR400R is a result of manufacturers trying to get as close to the limits as the regulations allow them to. It is powered by a 399cc liquid-cooled parallel twin DOHC engine. It slots in perfectly between the CBR250R and the CBR650F, doesn’t it?

5. Concept CB1100 concept

The Honda Concept CB is Honda’s take on how a modern day classic should look like - simple and minimalistic looks, acres of chrome and a massive air-cooled inline four engine. The round headlamps, retro gauges, spoke wheels and the chromed engine and exhaust system hark back to the heritage Honda CB model of the 1980s, adding just the right amount of sentimentality to the motorcycle.
