Triumph showcases the Venom custom Bonneville in the UK

Triumph has unveiled the Venom custom motorcycle at the MCM London Comic Con, in the UK. Based on the Bonneville classic motorcycle, the Venom has been built to commemorate the launch of the latest edition of the Metal Gear video game series – the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Created in house by Triumph, the Venom is based on the Boneville T100 model, and is ridden by one of the video game’s protagonists – Snake. The minimalist approach for creating this custom motorcycle saw the development team ditch all the ‘unnecessary’ bits like the mirrors and the instrument cluster, while the seat has been chopped off to make it a single seater.

The stock headlamp of the Bonneville T100 has been replaced with a yellow JVB Rumbler unit while the front suspension is made of heavy duty exposed springs, which get accentuated due to the lack of mudguards. The rear section of the Venom sports a heavy duty ammunition rack with saddlebags on both sides.

Mechanically, the Venom continues with the 865cc parallel-twin engine from the stock Beonneville T100, though the power is sent to the rear wheels through a Renthal performance sprocket instead of the stock unit. Painted in a Diamond Dogs livery, the Venom comes shod with knobbly Continental TKC80 tyres to suit the bike’s character.

However stunning it might look, the Venom has just been created to showcase the possibilities of customising a Bonneville and Triumph’s prowess in building a custom motorcycle. Sadly, we do not expect to see the Venom whizzing past on the roads anytime soon as it has been destined to stick to the pedestals at motorcycle shows around world. Check out the detailed shots of the Venom below.
