Bajaj will launch the much awaited fully-faired Pulsar RS200 motorcycle for the Indian market at an event in Mumbai tomorrow. The RS200 is a smaller displacement version of the SS400 concept shown at the 2014 Auto Expo.
This motorcycle underpins the NS200's platform and carries most elements from the younger naked sibling. It was unveiled as the SS200 in some countries abroad, but recently christened as the Bajaj Pulsar RS200. It features the body kit from the Pulsar SS400 and gets dual projector headlamps, DRLS, new OVRMs, clip-on handle-bars and new tail lamps.
The Pulsar RS200 is powered by same 200cc engine from the NS200, which produces 23.5bhp of power and 18.3Nm of torque. Bajaj will offer the motorcycle in at least two variants – with and without ABS. It will be clear tomorrow if the company will offer it with a fuel-injection system.
Bajaj has already started production of the RS200 at their Chakan plant and many Bajaj dealerships across the country are displaying the new motorcycle. The RS200 will be the first Pulsar to get ABS as a safety feature and daytime running lights to enhance its looks. We expect the manufacturer to price the motorcycle in the range of Rs 1.1 lakh to Rs 1.2 lakh. It will compete with the Yamaha YZF-R15 and the Honda CBR 150R when launched in India.
