Is Mahindra getting reckless with the test mules of the Mojo, or is this just a part of the company’s marketing strategy? We ask this because spy shots of completely undisguised test mules of the Mahindra Mojo have become quite common now, with the latest set of spy pictures coming from Lonavala, showing the motorcycle in its production-ready avatar.
The spotted Mojo featured the brand’s logos as well as the ‘Mojo’ emblem on the fuel tank. The front of the Mojo features a bikini fairing with smoked twin-headlamp unit, flanked by LED DRL strips. The side profile flaunts Mahindra’s trademark golden ribs, while the radiator is bordered with air-scoops.
The Mojo is powered by a newly developed four-stroke 295cc single-cylinder engine which is expected to churn out 27bhp and 25Nm of torque. The liquid-cooled unit gets electronic fuel injection and will be mated to a six-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are performed by inverted forks at the front and a monoshock in the rear, while the braking hardware is made up of a 320mm petal disc brake at the front and a 240mm disc brake in the rear.
While the Mojo concept was first unveiled more than four years ago at the 2010 Auto Expo, the Pune-based manufacturer has been taking its own sweet time in putting it to production. The last few spy shots however, hint that Mahindra might have finished developing the motorcycle, with a few reports suggesting that the company is planning to launch the motorcycle in the next month. The Mojo will rival other naked motorcycles like the KTM Duke 390 and the Kawasaki Z250.
