Suzuki Hayate

Suzuki will soon launch the refreshed version of the Hayate commuter motorcycle. There are few cosmetic changes to the bike while the mechanical bits remain the same.

The updated Hayate will get a new full painted side cowl with attractive graphics which will set it apart from the present model. Another change the company has made to the bike is the introduction of tubeless tyres with broader rims. The basic rider interface with an analogue speedometer and black and white dials remains the same. There are no revisions to the clear lens headlamp which is nicely integrated into the fairing.

The Suzuki Hayate will remain powered by a 112cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 8.3bhp of power and 8.8Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a four-speed gearbox. There are no mechanical changes and the motorcycle still features a tubular frame chassis with telescopic suspension at the front and a swing arm, and coil springs at the rear. It gets a fuel tank capacity of 8.5 litres with a usable reserve of two litres.

The motorcycle is available in six colours – metallic lush green, pearl mira red, glass sparkle black (red graphics), black sparkle black (blue graphics), pearl moonstone grey and pearl mirage white. With the fresh look to the Hayate, the company should be able to attract more middle-aged buyers in the Indian market as it goes up against the Honda Dream Yuga, Dream Neo, Bajaj Discover and Hero Splendor Plus. The refreshed Hayate is expected to be launched during the upcoming festive season.
