Traffic related information in Pune can now be available at your fingertips. The traffic police in Pune have launched 'Pune Traffic App' for the Punekars. It s a real time traffic app currently live on Android and is under review for iOS.
The app has been designed to provide correct information about traffic in real time. The objective is to provide better service to Pune citizens. Pune Traffic App users will receive alerts on traffic jams. Apart from the traffic information, the app has details about traffic police, rules, emergency contacts, addresses of police stations and phone numbers of local traffic officers. This app can also connect to a GPS enabled server which can help the user for navigation.
The traffic police will also be able to access the database of vehicles, offences, stolen vehicles and seized driving licenses with the help of the app. Police will now be able to restrict people from using RTO-issued duplicate licenses and know details about stolen cars by feeding in the registration number. The app, through a record of past violations, will also help cops in collecting more fines from repeat offenders.
Pune Traffic App is similar to Bangalore's Traffic Portal and should benefit not just the Punekars but other people travelling to the state as well. Mr. Vishwas Pandhare, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) ensured that the software will be updated periodically. We hope that the Pune traffic police ensure the smooth functioning of this app to keep the users of the app informed about the traffic conditions. We also hope that such apps are introduced in more regions in our country which help to improve the traffic conditions in our country.
