KTM unveils the RC 200 at EICMA 2013

The RC 200, one of the much awaited fully-faired motorcycles from KTM is here. We expect the motorcycle to be launched in the Indian market soon with a very aggressive price tag.

The design of the RC 200 is similar to other siblings, the RC 390 and the RC 125. In fact, it will share many of the parts of the RC 390 reason being KTM-Bajaj’s strategy of saving costs which they used for the Duke 200 and 390 as well.

The decals on the fully-faired RC 200 look attractive in addition to the appealing twin-headlamp set up. The bike gets a high windshield, clip-on handle bars, a 10 litre capacity fuel tank and split seats. The mirrors which have been mounted on the fairing have integrated blinkers.

The RC 200 is powered by a 200cc single cylinder four-stroke liquid cooled engine, mated to a six-speed transmission, churning out 25bhp. Borrowed from the Duke 200, the RC 200 also gets WP telescopic upside down front fork suspension, mono-shock rear suspension, powder coated tubular space frame made from steel tubes. ABS is standard on the RC 200 which is pretty good for riders safety.

Bajaj might launch the KTM RC200 in the upcoming 2014 Auto Expo. Currently the manufacturer will produce this variant at Bajaj’s Chakan facility in Pune and export it to many other countries. In India it will compete with the Yamaha YZF-R15 V 2.0 and the Honda CBR 250R.
