Hero MotoCorp is confident of sustaining their market leadership in coming years. Pawan Munjal, managing director slated the claim of Honda who recently said to surge ahead of Hero MotoCorp by 2015 to become India’s number one two wheeler company.
"I am dead sure of sustaining our leadership. Nobody can take away our leadership. It is no joke," said Pawan Munjal.
Honda has been slowly increasing their market share by launching new products every quarter and will continue to do so with the launches. The Japanese maker has already edged past Baja Auto and TVS to become the second biggest two wheeler manufacturer in India.
"Under the current scenario in India, I believe it will not be 2020, but even 2016 or 2015 by when we will attain number one position here,"shinji Ayoma, global operating officer had said in March.
In order to stay ahead of the game, Hero MotoCorp is working on several projects which are spanned across existing and new platforms at their R&D centers in Gurgaon and Dharuhera. Over 400 engineers are working on new ideas innovative ideas and are the company is in the process of adding more engineers.
