In the world of travel, motorcycles have always played a very important role. It has helped us travel the country with ease and comfort. But in the world of internet and social media, riding with a smartphone could prove to be little irritating when the phone doesn’t last one full day. Result, you can’t share the travel images and videos with your friends and family. This is where bike chargers come into picture and has made travelling easier.

There are a quite a few phone chargers for bikes available these days, there are a few who are trying to differentiate themselves from others. Bolt Smart Bike charger is one of them. The company that manufactures this says it’s the world’s first smart mobile phone charger for motorcycles. While this claim seems to be a pretty big one, we’ll talk about the performance and usability in the next couple of reports. In this story, we’ll give you a brief introduction on the Bolt Smart Bike Charger and its contents.

Priced at Rs 1600, the Bolt Charger can be ordered via the company’s official website as well as through Amazon and Flipkart. The charger comes in a neatly packed square box. This box contains related things like brackets, connecting cable, nylon fasteners, USB cable, user manual, which also contains the activation code to be used on the Bolt Riders App. Unboxing it is a pretty nice experience, thanks to the premium packing. But the quality of plastics used on the Bolt Red Streak (the charger) was a bit let down. There’s something called the Bolt Pocket, which is nothing but a small pouch to carry the smartphone. This pouch is water resistant, touch-screen friendly and has adjustable straps to be used on the fuel tank.

The company claims that the Bolt Red Streak charger has been designed to withstand all weather conditions. It has a working temperature range from 0 degrees to 75 degrees centigrade. It can charge any phones available in the market today and has a power output of 5V, 2A. The square design might look little basic but it has anti-theft feature and the company says that they wanted to keep it compact. This design makes it easy to remove the charger and take it away when you aren’t riding. There’s a red LED indicator, which glows when the charger is in use. While the quality of the charger exterior doesn’t look appealing but the company says that it has been manufactured using a premium high impact resistant material.

In the next report, we’ll talk about the installation process of the Bolt charger.

Stay tuned!
